12 Days of Christmas :: Holiday Cheer

It’s Friday..whoop, whoop!  For those of you who are running out to the mall this weekend, hopefully with our lists in tow, we wanted to give you a little holiday pick me up.  For those of you hosting a holiday get together, share some Cheer with your guest…try out some of our favorite drink recipes!

The Santa Hat


2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon water

3 tablespoons sweetened coconut flakes

3 oz. cranberry juice

1 oz. coconut-flavored rum

1/2 oz. grenadine (1 tablespoon)

Candy cane

Mix together powdered sugar and water on a small saucer until smooth. Spread coconut in a shallow layer on another saucer. Dip the rim of a Martini glass in the sugar mixture until the rim is coated. Then, dip the sugared rim into the coconut. Use a spoon to pack the coconut on to the sugar coating so it stays on the rim.Add the cranberry juice, coconut rum, and grenadine into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a prepared Martini glass and serve. Garnish with a candy cane.

Mocha Nog Punch


10 parts Kahlúa Mocha

5 parts Absolut Vanilla

20 parts eggnog

Combine ingredients and serve in a punchbowl with a floating ice block. Hint: Freeze ice with coffee beans for decoration.

Due Campari Nuovo ….HW’s personal fav!

2 ounce Campari

1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice

1/2 ounce orange liqueur

4 ounces prosecco

Flamed orange twist, for garnish

Directions

Combine the Campari, lemon juice, orange liqueur and prosecco in a champagne flute. Garnish with a flamed orange twist.

To make a flamed orange twist, light a match over the cocktailand squeeze a strip of peel over the match to release the oils. Drop the peel into the drink.

The Ninth Night (we haven’t tried this one yet, but should be our 2nd favorite!)


2 oz. SKYY Infusions Citrus

1 oz. Triple Sec

1 oz. white cranberry juice

Lemon-lime soda

Lime juice

Combine SKYY Infusions Citrus, Triple Sec, and cranberry juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into tall rocks glass with fresh ice. Top with soda and lots of fresh lime juice. Garnish with blue ribbon around the glass.

Hot Buttered Rum – the ‘night cap’


In a preheated coffee mug combine 2 heaping tbsp. batter with 1 1/2 oz. Mount Gay Eclipse Rum. Top with boiling water and stir well to mix. Serve with a spoon.

Hint: It is best to make the batter in advance so the spices have an opportunity to mingle. Be sure to remove batter from refrigeratorat least 6 hours prior to serving to allow it to soften.
